Your support with confidential matters at school
We all want to feel safe and comfortable at school, both in the classroom and outside. Sometimes situations arise where we need help or simply need someone to talk to. At school, everyone experiences growth and change. You'll face new challenges, but sometimes also problems like bullying, discrimination, intimidation by fellow students or teachers, or personal issues that impact your studies.
In such situations, it's comforting to know that we at Summa are here to help. Here's how:
- In principle, your first point of contact is your LOBA or mentor. You can contact your LOBA or mentor with anything.
- Would you rather not go to your LOBA or mentor? Or are you referred by your LOBA or mentor? Then this is where the confidential counselors come in.
Summa's confidential advisors are available for both students and employees.
What is a confidential counselor?
Confidential counselors are available to help you have confidential conversations. They listen to you without judgment and help you find solutions. They want you to feel safe and receive the support you need. A confidential counselor will help you with everything, but also, if needed, will certainly support you throughout the process. This might mean, for example, that a confidential counselor accompanies you to difficult conversations. Summa's confidential counselors are trained staff members.
So, if you ever have any problems, don't hesitate to contact a trusted adult. They're there specifically for you! The most important thing is to know that you're not alone and that there are people who care about you and are ready to help. Together, we'll create a safe and supportive environment during your time at Summa.
Confidential advisors within Summa
Summa has at least one confidential counselor at every school. You can always contact any confidential counselor; this is not tied to a specific school or location. In addition, Summa also has two external confidential counselors affiliated with it. Discover everything about the confidential advisors at Summa on this page. This page is only accessible to students and employees with a Summa account.
Information for parents
Do you, as a parent, feel that your child doesn't feel safe at school? Your email will be received by Summa's internal confidential advisor (Roger Verkuijlen). Your question will then be discussed with the team of confidential advisors.
