All programs start as full-time vocational (BOL) options. This program also allows you to switch to work-study (BBL). This is possible when you're ready and have found a good training company. You'll work four days a week at your training company and attend Summa ICT one day a week. Together with your study coach, you'll determine what suits you best.

Mhbo route

Are you sure you want to continue to higher professional education after secondary vocational education (MBO)? Then our MHBO route might be something for you. With the MHBO track, you can obtain both your MBO and HBO diplomas in 6 years. You'll first earn your MBO level 4 diploma in 3 years. Then, you'll move on to HBO, where you can earn a bachelor's degree in ICT in another 3 years. You can also choose to complete the track with an Associate Degree after a total of 4 years.

Step by step, you'll learn the basics of cybersecurity. You'll learn how security works, how hackers operate, and how to protect systems against them. You'll work with security tools, learn to set up and secure networks, and practice troubleshooting when something goes wrong.

What prior education do you need?

For the vocational training (level 3) and middle management training (level 4) you must meet one of the following conditions:

  • You have a diploma in pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) with a pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track, a theoretical pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track, or a mixed pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track.
  • You have an (older) diploma from lbo, vbo, mavo or mavo-vbo.
  • You have a basic vocational training diploma (level 2) or a diploma from another vocational training course (level 3).
  • You have proof that you successfully completed the first three years of pre-university or senior general secondary education (havo) or pre-university education (vwo). Or you have another diploma or certificate recognized by the government.

New MHBO programme saves students a year

A new higher professional education program from Fontys, Summa, and Yonder allows MBO ICT students to work at a higher professional education level and, upon successful completion, grants them exemption from the first year. This saves them a year of study.
