All-round laboratory technician (bol)
More information.
What are you becoming?
You'll become a versatile laboratory technician, preparing, checking, processing, examining, and analyzing samples. You could work for government agencies, water treatment plants, chemical companies, or food companies, for example. You can also progress to the MBO-level 4 Analyst program, with the Chemical-Physical Analyst and Biological Medical Analyst specializations. It's also possible to enroll in the second year of these Summa programs after two years.
There is a high demand for people in the technical healthcare and chemical industries.
What does your education look like?
The program lasts two and a half years. The first two years are primarily in-school learning. The third year consists of a six-month internship.
First and second year
You'll primarily study at school, five days a week. You'll receive theoretical and practical instruction, and you'll practice in realistic real-world situations. In both years, you'll also be introduced to several internship companies. During the second half of the second year, you'll also work on preparing for your final internship and on electives during class. This allows you to begin your internship as independently as possible in the third year.
Third grade
The third year lasts only six months. You'll complete a 20-week internship as a versatile laboratory technician. There are follow-up days at the school for guidance and additional theory lessons.
