Enhance your CNC skills

Efficient use of time, materials, and machinery requires highly specific knowledge and skills. The course utilizes simulation equipment. Technological development and innovation are commonplace in the metalworking industry. This also applies to the use of machinery. CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control, a more computer-driven approach.

This course can serve as preparation for the training Production technology employee machining.

You will learn this

 

Depending on the course chosen and the candidate's level, part or at least the following will be covered:

  • Building the CNC Machine, What is CNC;
  • Layout Cartesian coordinate system on the CNC Machine;
  • Types and functions of zero points and reference points;
  • Do absolute and incremental dimensions G-codes work for machine settings in turning/milling;
  • Straight-line programming with G1 and G0;
  • Programming circle shapes with G2 and G3;
  • Programming bevels and roundings;
  • Programming with radius and compensation and contour entry and exit;
  • Pre- and post-turning of contours (internal and external);
  • Working with subprograms for contour definitions;
  • Test and simulate programs using CNC simulation software.

Costs

The daily rate for machining in the workshop is €380 (including material costs, excluding lunch).

Your employer may be eligible for a subsidy. For more information, please contact the training fund they are affiliated with.

The course is tailor-made for each participant and delivered in a number of half-days of 3,5 hours each.

Preliminary training

  • experience with conventional turning and/or milling (depending on the choice);
  • a reasonable command of the Dutch language (speaking and reading comprehension);
  • general arithmetic skills.
