Combination Nursing IG – Nurse (bol)

Learn the basics of both courses, starting in February

You enjoy helping others. As a caregiver, you help people who can no longer manage everything themselves, and in nursing, you guide and care for people who need care. This program introduces you to both worlds.

In caregiving, you'll assist with things like eating, washing, and dressing. You'll also administer medication. You'll develop and implement a care plan. You'll offer both physical and emotional support. You'll listen carefully, empathize, be patient, and respond to the wishes and needs of the people you care for. Because you know them well, you know when something's wrong. In that case, you might contact a general practitioner.

In nursing, you guide and care for people in need. These may include sick people, the elderly, (newborn) children, or people with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. You plan and implement care, providing both physical and mental support. You collaborate with colleagues and other healthcare providers. If you identify any challenges, you find solutions.

During the first year and a half, you'll have a broad orientation on the sectors you can work in: nursing homes, home care (VVT), and disability care. This way, you'll discover where you're passionate and where you want to pursue your diploma: Nursing Assistant (level 3) or Vocational Nursing (level 4).
