Want to learn all about online sales and online marketing? Are you interested in building and promoting a webshop and developing your digital skills? Then the E-commerce Specialist program is for you!

E-commerce, or online sales, has become an indispensable part of today's society. This work-based learning program will teach you the ropes for your own e-commerce business or your boss's projects.  

The e-commerce specialist focuses on social media campaigns, analyzing website data, and ensuring the visibility of online stores. Webcare and designing engaging, creative media materials like blogs, vlogs, and infographics are also part of her daily work.

In short, you'll develop various online marketing campaigns and be responsible for the online and offline sales of products or services. You can also establish your own brand or grow an existing one, and you'll be the go-to professional for the latest online trends.

Businesses are waiting for you! Store owners need staff with expertise in online marketing, online sales (policy), and creating online promotional activities. Staff who can utilize various media channels and technological applications to respond to the wants and needs of their customers/target audience.

What are you becoming?

With your E-commerce Specialist diploma, you can, of course, work for a commercial company or start your own business. You can also continue your studies at a university of applied sciences with an associate's degree or bachelor's degree, for example in E-commerce Management, Commercial Economics, Content Creation, Communications, and many more. 

What does your education look like?

This E-commerce Specialist course is a work-based learning program, which means you work 4 days a week and go to school 1 day a week.

Challenges will push you to reach your full potential. You'll work on projects, some of the assignments based on real-world situations, and you'll be trained as a specialist through subjects such as online marketing, design, entrepreneurship, social media, digital skills (data), logistics/retail, and commercial skills.

The statutory tuition fee for the 2026-2027 school year is 762 euros.

Elective courses

During your studies, you'll choose one or more electives to specialize or broaden your knowledge. These include topics like entrepreneurial behavior, personal development, adapting to innovation, and digital skills. What prior education do you need?

For the vocational training (level 3) and middle management training (level 4) you must meet one of the following conditions:

  • You have a diploma in pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) with a pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track, a theoretical pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track, or a mixed pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track.
  • You have an (older) diploma from lbo, vbo, mavo or mavo-vbo.
  • You have a basic vocational training diploma (level 2) or a diploma from another vocational training course (level 3).
  • You have proof that you successfully completed the first three years of pre-university or senior general secondary education (havo) or pre-university education (vwo). Or you have another diploma or certificate recognized by the government.

Work at a recognized training company

Due to the demanding nature of the course (being able to work independently, planning) and the challenges of finding the right work-study position, it is mainly students aged 18 or older who successfully complete the course.

Work

During a personal interview or introductory meeting, we'll determine if this program is a good fit for you. To participate in this program, you must work at an accredited training company. If you don't work for such a company, we'll help you find a suitable work placement. You'll be responsible for finding one yourself.
