Discover your strength

As a Home Advisor, you'll work in high-end home furnishing companies or specialty furniture stores. You're adept at interacting with customers and know exactly how to influence them through presentation and promotion.

You'll also be an expert in the product range, providing design advice and advising on colors and wall finishes. To this end, you'll stay abreast of industry trends and developments and apply this knowledge of diverse styles to all aspects of your work. You'll serve as a role model and mentor colleagues with your specialized knowledge.

You will learn this

During this course, you'll learn how to conduct effective sales conversations, enabling you to provide customers with sound advice. You'll gain extensive product knowledge and sales techniques. You'll learn how store inventory is structured and how to monitor and manage it. You'll negotiate with customers and handle the associated administrative tasks. You'll create and process sales orders independently. The lessons also cover how to furnish and decorate a store and how to attractively present items to boost sales. Naturally, you'll also receive instruction in general subjects such as Dutch, English, math, and career and citizenship.

Your future as a Housing Advisor

After completing this training, you can work as a sales specialist for furniture, kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, home textiles, home accessories, parquet and laminate flooring, and lighting.

Preliminary training

To be admitted to a level 3 vocational training course you need:

  • diploma in pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) with a vocational, theoretical or mixed learning pathway;
  • diploma lbo, vbo or mavo or;
  • transition certificate from 3 to 4 havo or vwo or;
  • diploma MBO level 2 or;
  • other government-recognized diploma or certificate.

You must also work at a recognized training company.
