As a kitchen fitter, you're the specialist in installing new kitchens. You're knowledgeable about kitchen furniture, wall finishes, and you also install appliances. You're customer-focused and enjoy working in various locations.

You'll also work safely with various machines, tools, and materials, transforming bare spaces into beautiful kitchens. You will learn this

The program lasts two years, during which you attend school one day a week and work the rest of the week at a kitchen company. You will learn:

  • the assembly, installation and finishing of kitchens
  • connecting kitchen appliances
  • the delivery of kitchens.
  • how to provide professional customer advice on kitchen maintenance and use.

In addition, you will take the subjects Dutch, arithmetic, career and citizenship and you will work on the following electives:

  • Staying fit, safe and healthy at work
  • Responding to innovations
  • Electrical and installation technology for construction

The statutory tuition fee for the 2025-2026 school year is €303.

Summa training courses and teaching materials provided by Summa are exempt from VAT. Read more about training costs.

Duration

The program lasts two years. You'll attend school one day a week and work four days a week at a training company.

Preliminary training

To be admitted to this course you need at least:

  • diploma from pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) basic vocational track or;
  • MBO entrance training diploma (level 1).

Work
During a personal interview or introductory meeting, we'll determine if this program is a good fit for you. To participate in this program, you must work at an accredited training company. If your employer isn't accredited, or you're unsure if this is the case, please contact us. We're happy to help.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive an MBO level 2 diploma.
