What are you becoming?
After completing this training, you can work at a daycare center, a preschool, an after-school program, or a childcare center. Further education is also possible. You will then pursue a level 4 qualification, such as Specialized Educational Assistant, Personal Support Worker in Social Care, Social Worker, or Teaching Assistant..
What does your education look like?
In the pedagogical assistant program, you'll learn everything you need to know in practice. You'll also complete an internship each year, usually at a daycare center, preschool, childcare center, or after-school program.
You'll start in the first year in a combined group of Childcare Worker and Specialized Childcare Worker students. At the end of the first year, you'll choose one of two tracks together with your career counselor to earn your diploma.

What prior education do you need?
For the vocational training (level 3) and middle management training (level 4) you must meet one of the following conditions:
- You have a diploma in pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) with a pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track, a theoretical pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track, or a mixed pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track.
- You have an (older) diploma from lbo, vbo, mavo or mavo-vbo.
- You have a basic vocational training diploma (level 2) or a diploma from another vocational training course (level 3).
- You have proof that you successfully completed the first three years of pre-university or senior general secondary education (havo) or pre-university education (vwo). Or you have another diploma or certificate recognized by the government.

You will be invited for a personal interview or introductory meeting where you will get to know the school and we will see if this course is a good fit for you.
Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) required
To be eligible for an internship, you need a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG). Almost all training companies require this. We recommend that you ensure you can obtain a VOG before starting your program. This will prevent you from being unable to complete an internship and possibly having to discontinue your program.
