What are you becoming?
After completing the Level 3 pedagogical worker training program, you can work at a daycare center, preschool, after-school program, or childcare center in the Brainport region of Eindhoven or beyond. Further training is also possible. You will then follow a Level 4 program, such as Specialized pedagogical employee, Personal social care supervisor (formerly Adult Work or Disability Care), Social worker, Combination Social Work-Social Care of Teaching assistant.
What does your education look like?
The work-based learning program for childcare workers not only provides theoretical depth in various subjects (such as pedagogy and developmental psychology), but also focuses on the Dutch language and active communication. You'll have one day of classes per week on a fixed day. You'll also work at least 16 hours a week at a childcare training company, earning a salary.

What prior education do you need?
For the vocational training (level 3) and middle management training (level 4) you must meet one of the following conditions:
- You have a diploma in pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) with a pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track, a theoretical pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track, or a mixed pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track.
- You have an (older) diploma from lbo, vbo, mavo or mavo-vbo.
- You have a basic vocational training diploma (level 2) or a diploma from another vocational training course (level 3).
- You have proof that you successfully completed the first three years of pre-university or senior general secondary education (havo) or pre-university education (vwo). Or you have another diploma or certificate recognized by the government.
Additionally
It's important that your Dutch language proficiency is A2-B1. We'll have a personal interview to determine if this course is right for you.
Work
To take this course, you must work at an accredited training company. You will be responsible for finding a suitable internship. For an overview of accredited training companies and more information about the job market, internships, and careers, visit www.s-bb.nl.
Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) required
To be eligible for an internship, you need a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG). Almost all training companies require this. We recommend that you ensure you can obtain a VOG before starting your program. This will prevent you from being unable to complete an internship and possibly having to discontinue your program.
