Security guard 3 (ball)

You and your team guarantee safety

As a 'Security Officer Level 3', you're responsible for the security of a building, site, or transport facility. You manage a team and ensure your colleagues can perform their work as effectively as possible. You also perform security duties yourself.

So you're a "collaborating foreman." You have the same duties as a security guard, but you also create scripts, contribute to work instructions, and advise the manager and the client they work for on security measures.

Sometimes you'll have to deal with guests, for example, during an access check. In such cases, you'll behave politely and helpfully, but still project authority.

As a security guard level 3, you need to be able to handle unexpected situations effectively. Your team expects you to come up with a quick and clear solution. Together with your team, you'll keep things safe!

  • You have a diploma in pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) with a pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track, a theoretical pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track, or a mixed pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track.
  • You have an (older) diploma from lbo, vbo, mavo or mavo-vbo.
  • You have a basic vocational training diploma (level 2) or a diploma from another vocational training course (level 3).
  • You have proof that you successfully completed the first three years of pre-university or senior general secondary education (havo) or pre-university education (vwo). Or you have another diploma or certificate recognized by the government.

Getting to know the school and course

You will be invited for a personal interview or introductory meeting where you will get to know the school and we will see if this course is a good fit for you.

Police screening

You will be screened by the police before you can start at your training company. The training company will then apply for a "green pass" from the chief of police. To obtain this pass, they will check whether you have committed any criminal offenses. They will then determine whether these offenses will block your pass application. Without a pass, you cannot complete the program.

The police will review your personal file for eight years. If you have lived in the Netherlands for less than eight years, you must be able to provide a document from your country of origin stating that you have not had any contact with the police or the judicial authorities there.
