What are you becoming?
Upon successful completion of this program, you can combine the Sports and Exercise Instructor diploma (MBO level 3) with a Specialized Pedagogical diploma (level 4). You will also take the Didactic Support for Primary Education elective. With these diplomas and successful completion of the elective, you can work, for example, as a (sports) instructor in (after-school) childcare or as a (sports) teaching assistant.
You can also continue studying at a university of applied sciences.
What does your education look like?
You and your classmates will participate in an inspiring, challenging, and sporty program spread over three academic years. You'll learn the following:
Pedagogical skills: focuses on the development of children and young people and creates a safe and stimulating environment.
Organizing sports and exercise activities: get everyone moving and motivate them to participate actively.
Collaboration: learn how to collaborate effectively with colleagues and how to prepare activities and support the teacher or educational staff member in the classroom, at the (daycare) center, and at the sports facility.
You will develop in pedagogy, didactics, sports and exercise.

During your studies, you choose one or more electives to specialize or broaden your knowledge. For example, in entrepreneurship, management, programming, or a language. What prior education do you need?
For the vocational training (level 3) and middle management training (level 4) you must meet one of the following conditions:
- You have a diploma in pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) with a pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track, a theoretical pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track, or a mixed pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track.
- You have an (older) diploma from lbo, vbo, mavo or mavo-vbo.
- You have a basic vocational training diploma (level 2) or a diploma from another vocational training course (level 3).
- You have proof that you successfully completed the first three years of pre-university or senior general secondary education (havo) or pre-university education (vwo). Or you have another diploma or certificate recognized by the government.

Work
During a personal interview or introductory meeting, we'll determine whether this program is a good fit for you. To be eligible for this program, you must work at least 610 hours annually at an accredited training company. You will be responsible for finding a suitable work placement. Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) required
To be eligible for an internship, you need a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG). Almost all training companies require this. We recommend that you ensure you can obtain a VOG before starting your program. This will prevent you from being unable to complete an internship and possibly having to discontinue your program.
