Smart Industry Technician (bbl)
More information.
What are you becoming?
As a Smart Industry Technician, you'll primarily work with electrical engineering and electronics. You'll also frequently encounter ICT (hardware and software), measurement and control technology, control engineering, and mechanical engineering. You could work for equipment manufacturers, the 3D printing industry, or other innovative companies. You can also pursue further education with a higher professional education (HBO) degree in smart industry, robotics, or mechatronics.
What does your education look like?
You work four days a week and go to school one day a week. The school year is divided into blocks linked to themes important to smart industry. In the first year, you follow four blocks: 4. Simple smart product: you build and test a data logger based on an embedded system. 1. From stupid to smart working: you optimize a traditional process by adding smart technology. 1. Lean production line: you learn to understand and monitor a production line and make recommendations for optimizing it. 4. Smart proof of concept: based on a customer request, you develop and implement a proof of concept using smart technology.
In the second year, you'll work on "Smarter Maintenance," complete a project of your choice, and take a aptitude test. The program is co-created with 2 companies in the Brainport region. The course materials and projects were developed in collaboration with them. You'll visit companies and receive guest lectures, workshops, and guidance from industry professionals.
