Costs
MIT-E Intermediate Installation Technician Electrical Engineering: €8.220 for the 2-year course.
The prices include exam fees but exclude study materials. Study materials cost approximately €1.050. These prices are valid as of November 1, 2025. Subject to change. Invoicing will take place in September/October of the first year.

Duration
The program lasts two years. Each year, you'll have 32 to 36 days of instruction.
Study load
The study load is 728 SBU.
Days and times
Classes are from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. We advise you to miss as few classes as possible. Exams are scheduled within class hours.
In addition to the weekly meetings, you should take into account 10 to 12 hours per week of self-study (homework, preparation, studying study material).
You will also have to invest time in the graduation assignment, which requires you to do research outside of school hours.

Preliminary training
To participate in this course, you must have a relevant (electrical) engineering qualification at level 4 or equivalent. Examples include:
- Electrical Installation Technician for residential and commercial buildings, level 4
- Technician for Electrical Installations in the Built Environment Level 4
- High-current installation technician level 4
- Work Planner Electrical Installations Level 4
- Engineering for society level 4
- Diploma HTS Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering
- Middle Management Technician Engineering level 4
- Electrical Engineering Service Technician Level 4
- Secondary Technical School in the field of electrical engineering level 4
The following items must be submitted upon registration:
- Your relevant diplomas (as a PDF file)
- Your grade list(s) (as a PDF file)
- CV with relevant work experience and courses
An intake interview may be part of the admissions process. During this interview, we'll discuss your requirements. A test may also be administered to assess your basic electrical engineering knowledge.
Certificate of Education
During the program, you'll complete various components with an exam and a final project. Upon successful completion, you'll receive an industry-recognized diploma from SMIT.
