Experience Certificate (EVC)

Experience certificate

Learning doesn't just take place in the classroom, but also in everyday life. For example, at work. The knowledge and experience you've gained in practice can be documented in an experience certificate, known as an EVC. This way, you receive a formally recognized certificate. If you wish, you can then obtain a vocational certificate or diploma through a shortened program.

What is an EVC?

EVC stands for Recognition of Prior Learning. This formally recognizes your knowledge and skills. You can acquire these in various ways, such as through work experience, self-study, or training. To obtain this certificate, you must complete an EVC process.

How does it work?

Summa collaborates with Bureau STERK and EVC Nederland. You register with one of these agencies, and they'll invite you for an intake interview. During this interview, your experiences, skills, and any training and education you have will be discussed. Together, you'll determine whether you have a good chance of completing an EVC program.

With an experience certificate you will quickly obtain an MBO diploma or MBO certificate

When you start the program, your practical skills and theoretical knowledge will be assessed. The results of the program are documented in an experience certificate. This allows you to formally demonstrate your knowledge and skills. It's also an easy stepping stone to vocational education (MBO). With an experience certificate, you'll be exempted from the components you've already mastered. With a shortened program, you'll only need to complete the components for which you're not exempt. This way, you'll quickly earn an MBO diploma or certificate!
