Internship

Internships are an important part of a full-time vocational program. You'll work for a period at a company or institution that aligns with your program. This is also called vocational training (BPV). You'll learn skills relevant to your future career. It helps you make a smooth transition from education to the job market.

You'll do internships during fixed periods of your program. Sometimes for weeks at a time, sometimes for a few days a week. This varies by program. You'll have an internship supervisor at school and a workplace trainer at work. They'll help you complete your internship successfully. To earn your diploma, you must complete the internship with a passing grade. In addition to internship activities, you'll also complete assignments from a workbook.

With a work-based learning program, you already have a job and go to school one day a week.

Internship abroad

Every year, hundreds of Summa students go abroad for internships, both in Europe and far beyond. It's often an unforgettable experience. We collaborate with various companies and institutions worldwide, so there are plenty of opportunities!

Some programs also organize excursions and work weeks abroad. See this page about internship abroad and inquire at your Summa school about the options available.
