“Only during an open evening do you really see what you can make.”
Still unsure about your study choice? During Summa's open evening on Thursday, March 26, you can explore all the programs: from technology and ICT to healthcare, safety, and trade. For Job Bouman (19) from Best, such an open evening was the perfect opportunity to discover what suited him.
During his visit, he walked through Summa Techniek's workshops at the BIC in Eindhoven for the first time. "We immediately walked into the hall with the welding rooms, machines, and robots. You can feel that things are actually made here."
Every assignment is a puzzle
He's currently in the second year of his all-round construction worker training program at Summa Techniek. He also works four days a week at De Salamander in Best, where he contributes to small metal products.
According to Job, many young people don't realize how broad technology actually is. That's why he recommends exploring the subject and, above all, exploring it. He's eager to share his enthusiasm. He recently even taught a welding class at his old high school in Boxtel.
"What I love about technology is that every assignment is a puzzle," says Job. "You have to figure out how to make something and how everything fits together."
