I will become a super HR employee

I've been going through a difficult time; my husband passed away in 2017. It affected me greatly at work; my employer showed little understanding of my situation. It was a major motivation for me to pursue the Legal, Insurance & HR Services Specialist program.

At Summa, I took tests to see if I could handle the level and if the program was a good fit for me. The results were positive. So now I'm studying to become an HR professional. It's exactly what I hoped for. I'm especially interested in the legal subjects: employment law, tax law. It's also been very helpful for me personally: I now file my own tax returns.

I'm learning the practical side of things at Het Beginstation in Helmond, an organization that focuses on sustainable and innovative projects. I'm learning a lot about having conversations there. Everything is going great. That's also because we have a great, motivated group at school, and the teachers and mentor are always there to cheer you up when things aren't going well.

After completing my Legal, Insurance & HR Services Specialist training, I'd love to work in healthcare. I'm sure I'll be a fantastic HR professional because I know both the workplace and HR work.
