Finally, there's something you can really wear. That gives me energy.

The course started off really well. We worked in groups and made a paper dress on a mannequin. I didn't know anyone in my group, but together we had loads of ideas. And after three days, we had a cool dress. It even ended up in the school window and was presented at Dutch Design Week!
This course is exactly what I hoped for. We sometimes spend hours in a sewing studio completing assignments or making our own things. You learn to design, cut-and-paste—so your garment fits perfectly, which you calculate with formulas—pattern drafting on the computer, cutting, and sewing. A garment takes a while! In the end, you end up with something you can actually wear. That's what energizes me. I don't really enjoy digital pattern drafting. But when I'm doing that, I think: oh well, the end result will be fantastic!
