As a nurse, you're the link between doctor and patient. You have a lot of contact with people, both with patients to provide care and with colleagues. A day is unpredictable; it can be hectic, and then it's up to you to stay calm and prioritize.
Every day, you often experience small moments that make you think, "This is why I do it." Moments where you've truly helped or reassured someone. That's what I enjoy most about my job. I also find it interesting to see the other side of healthcare, for example, how many parties worked together to ensure your appointment with the specialist went smoothly.
You really have to want to do this profession. You work with people, and if you do it because you "have to," it shows.
