Thanks to this study I have found a challenge again
Monique Cornelisse
Former student Sterile Medical Devices Employee
I worked for 26 years at Admiraal De Ruyter Hospital in the pathology department, and after a reorganization, I was able to move to the sterilization department and start this training program. It was challenging; I had to learn it all over again. After so many years of the same job, you feel a bit stuck, but now I've found new challenges. That's a big plus. After this training, I might continue my studies. I'm not done learning yet.
I'm in a fun, diverse class with all motivated people. Most of my classmates are no longer teenagers and have consciously chosen this program, which means they're serious about their studies.
If you're interested in starting this program, first visit a sterilization department and spend a day shadowing them. You'll discover there's more to the profession than you think. We learn about anatomy and protocols, for example. And there's more than just the department. You'll visit the entire hospital and talk to colleagues in the operating room, for example, and to clients.
