François van Eekert teaches the plastering course at Summa.

A basic plastering course lasts eight days, but it can be shorter or longer. For example, we also offer one-day courses for tilers or bricklayers who want to fix a poorly positioned wall themselves.

Plastering course

The course covers interior and exterior plasterwork, ceilings, sanding, and plastering. "Students learn about all types of substrates and pretreatments, tinning and rendering, applying hand-applied and bonding plasters, and they receive practical theory. It's very broad: from traditional to modern techniques such as gloss plasters, modern decorative plasters, and special cement-based products. These modern materials, for example, dry and can be tiled over after just a few hours. Previously, it took days for them to dry."
