Thanks to VIA I am now in the right place
Ethan Bruser
After high school, Ethan Bruser chose an IT program at Summa. It turned out not to be the right choice. His mentor advised Ethan to follow the VIA program. It put him on the right track. "The program pleasantly surprised me."
I really didn't know what I wanted after high school. I wasn't ready to make a good choice. Two friends were going into IT. I like computers, so I decided to do it too. It wasn't a good fit. I found it boring and didn't quite get it. But what then? I didn't know. My mentor pointed me towards the VIA program.
Funnel
My first interview there immediately gave me a good feeling. They explained to me that it's not a program. It works like a funnel. All the programs are at the top. Through classes, tests, assignments, and internships, you discover who you are, what you want, what you enjoy, and what you're good at. As a result, more and more programs are eliminated. Ultimately, at the bottom of the funnel, there are a few that suit you.
Variety
I discovered I enjoy variety. I like to work with my head and be creative. And I'm good at presenting. I enjoy doing that too. Several programs emerged that might be a good fit for me. I delved into them. I started looking around and talked to people about them. Ultimately, I chose the Marketing & Communication Specialist program at Summa Business. I'm currently in my first year. I'm really enjoying it; it's a good fit for me.
Educational
I'm glad I took the VIA program. The classes were incredibly informative, and the instructors were very helpful. I was pleasantly surprised by the program. If you're unsure about what to pursue, VIA is highly recommended. You'll discover what suits you. Without this program, I would never have chosen marketing and communications.
