Come and find what suits you at Summa's open day

For 17-year-old Djeno van Kol from Milheeze, it wasn't always clear what direction he wanted to take. "I wasn't feeling comfortable in high school. I struggled to finish," Djeno says. After a less successful attempt at another school, he finally found his passion at Summa Horeca. "During the open house, I knew right away: this is what I want to do."

Djeno is currently enrolled in the vocational training program for host/hostess, attending school one day a week and working the rest of the week at the Op Hete Kolen restaurant in Deurne. "I love challenging myself," he says. "I want to complete the two-year program in one year. After that, I want to progress to level 3 as quickly as possible, and I dream of a career as an airline steward."

Summa's open day was the turning point for Djeno. "I'm glad I didn't listen to what others were saying, but followed my gut and went to the open day! Now I'm completely in the right place. Summa also focuses heavily on personal development; I'm discovering more and more of my talents. After this hospitality program, I want to pursue the Aviation Services program, which is also possible at Summa."
