Student Manja Aarts: “After that open day, I knew for sure…”

In 17, 2022-year-old Manja Aarts from Lottum had no idea what she wanted to do after pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO). She looked at various programs on the Summa College website, including nursing, construction, and security. She chose Optician at Summa College, where she has now been happily studying for a year. “When I walked into Summa during the open house last year, it immediately felt good. I was personally welcomed and given an explanation of what I could do and see that day. It was really nice. I found the conversations with the students and lecturers especially inspiring. You hear from students about the courses and what the daily routines are like. My tip for attending an open house: don't be afraid to walk in and ask questions! The atmosphere is also important. I also looked at other programs that same day, but Optician felt right right away. I'm very happy with the choice I made.”
