Successful student festival Vibes in the heart of Eindhoven
For the second time, the student festival Vibes took place Wednesday evening in the heart of Eindhoven. Stadhuisplein was packed with thousands of students from vocational colleges, universities of applied sciences, and universities – including 2.000 from Summa. It was a festive way to start the new academic year together.
More and more introductory activities from the various Summa schools are joining Vibes on Wednesdays. This gives even more students the opportunity to attend, meet each other, and make new connections. This way, the shared start in Eindhoven continues to grow every year into a student festival for everyone.
Alderman Robert Strijk opened the festival along with three student representatives from the municipality of Eindhoven, including Pablo Schouten. Pablo is a second-year Nutrition and Lifestyle Advisor student at Summa Beauty & Lifestyle and vice-chair of the Summa Student Council. After the official opening, the program kicked off with music bingo and performances by DJ La Fuente, Lampegastuh, Trobi, and Mr. Swnkls.
Collaboration
Vibes is made possible thanks to a collaboration between Fontys University of Applied Sciences, TU/e, SintLucas, De Rooi Pannen, and the municipality of Eindhoven. The festival originated from the municipality's vocational education (MBO) action plan and demonstrates that studying in Eindhoven means learning, growing, and enjoying life in a city brimming with innovation: Eindhoven is known as the "home of students" for a reason.
