Transport & Logistics in motion

July 04, 2025

Summa Transport & Logistics is constantly evolving. Learning becomes more fun and meaningful when we're actively involved in practical projects, working with interesting partners. Three highlights from the past week.

High-tech company ASML and Summa College will be collaborating more frequently. Their staff will be working in our technical programs, and students will increasingly have access to opportunities within the company. ASML Executive Vice President of Manufacturing Andries Hofman and Summa College Executive Board Chairman Laurent de Vries signed the agreement establishing the collaboration on February 1st; news about it appeared in various media. We already do a lot together, but we're going to expand our connections even further. A win-win situation for ASML, Brainport, and our students! Incidentally, a wonderful article was published. new movie about what we've already done in the recent past. A wonderful training program with them, and we're so happy with the kind words from our BBL students Kevin and Tolga.

Special investigation
Fourth-year students conducted a unique study. Last week, they presented their findings to lecturers from Summa Welfare, Summa Healthcare, and Summa College of Social Care. The study focused on structuring warehouse and inventory management. Thanks to our students, an improvement program has been initiated that will improve the processes. We are proud of our students—of their research and of the collaboration.

Challenges for Hanos
And finally, there were challenges for Hanos. The final presentations went very well, with several suggestions for improvement, one of which has already been implemented. Learning moments were mainly focused on the process-based aspect: data acquisition and communication. The students learned a great deal, as did the client.

These are exciting developments; we're moving towards more valuable connections that will enrich the region and, of course, our education system.
