At school, you'll learn what it takes to become a skilled professional. This includes theoretical and practical lessons. You'll learn all about glasses, lenses, eye exams, and spectacles. You'll also have classes in:

• the functioning of the eye;
• refraction of light;
• eye abnormalities;
• to sell;
• assortment management;
• workplace.

You'll also take general subjects like language and math. At the end of this vocational program, you'll be able to:

• conduct a customer-oriented sales conversation;
• repair a frame;
• grinding glasses;
• keep track of product inventory;
• recommend fashionable glasses.

During your training, you'll visit an international trade fair and an eyewear manufacturer. After graduation, you can work in an optician's shop or a grinding workshop. You can also progress to the level 4 Optician training course.
