All-round carpenter (bbl)

Manager with an eye for perfect carpentry

As an all-around carpenter, you'll work on new construction projects, renovations, and conversions. You'll build roofs, floors, ceilings, stairs, and walls. You'll also make and install doors and windows.

You consistently deliver quality work that lasts and looks beautiful and polished. You also provide leadership, assigning daily tasks and monitoring progress.

At Summa Bouw, you'll learn how to use tools and machinery. You'll be trained in the best carpentry techniques and will work on laying out and installing roofs and window frames, for example. You'll also learn leadership, teamwork, consultation, planning, and organization. Delivering good quality is important to you, as is working safely.

You can work for a carpentry company, a construction company, or a contractor. You can also continue your education, for example with the level 4 course. Site Manager (BBL) of Architecture (full-time).

You work 4 days a week at a training company and go to school 1 day a week.

What prior education do you need?

For the vocational training (level 3) and middle management training (level 4) you must meet one of the following conditions:

  • You have a diploma in pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) with a pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track, a theoretical pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track, or a mixed pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track.
  • You have an (older) diploma from lbo, vbo, mavo or mavo-vbo.
  • You have a basic vocational training diploma (level 2) or a diploma from another vocational training course (level 3).
  • You have proof that you successfully completed the first three years of pre-university or senior general secondary education (havo) or pre-university education (vwo). Or you have another diploma or certificate recognized by the government.

During a personal interview or introductory meeting, we'll determine if this program is a good fit for you. To participate in this program, you must work at an accredited training company. If you don't work for such a company, we'll help you find a suitable work placement. You'll be responsible for finding one yourself.
