You will learn this

In five half-days you will learn the following:

Assistive activities in the areas of living, housekeeping and activities of daily living (ADL), such as eating, drinking, dressing and undressing and moving.
These activities can be performed in the client's home environment, but also in settings such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, educational institutions, or childcare facilities. The following topics are covered in the course:

  • relevant diseases
  • legislation and regulations within healthcare
  • communication with client and relatives
  • promote client self-reliance
  • observe and record eating and drinking habits

The lessons are practical and tailored to your work situation as closely as possible. You can put what you learn into practice the very next day!

This module is part of our Support & Basic Care certificate carousel. The cost is €760. every 5 weeks (including exam fees, excluding course materials). Course materials cost approximately €90. You will receive a welcome email before the course begins informing you of the exact additional costs for course materials.

Lesson times and location

The training sessions take place weekly from 9:00 AM to 1:15 PM in the Summa & Bedrijf Skill Lab, Willem de Rijkelaan 3, Eindhoven. No classes take place during regular school holidays and on public holidays.

This course is part of our certification carousel. Weekly sessions are held throughout the year. There are eight intake dates per year. From the start date, you will attend the number of sessions required for your chosen program. Placement is based on order of registration. If an intake date has reached its maximum number of participants, it will no longer be possible to start at that time. During the course, you will complete practical assignments and ultimately take the corresponding exam.

Thursdays, 9:00 – 13:15.

Preliminary training

You don't need any specific prior education. You must work at least 14 hours per week in professional practice. No holidays are scheduled during this period.

For Whom

This course is suitable for you if you want to work in the healthcare and welfare sector or if you want to progress in that sector.

Certificate of Education

After successfully completing the lessons and the corresponding practical exam, you will receive a nationally recognized vocational certificate. This certificate will be registered in the DUO diploma register.
