Social care supervisor (bol)

After completing this program, you can work as a support worker at an institution that offers support and guidance in housing, daytime activities, and leisure time. You'll focus on the pillars of Positive Health: Body Functions, Mental Wellbeing, Meaning, Quality of Life, Participation, and Daily Living. Further education is also possible, for example, with a level 4 vocational education program, such as Educational Work, Social Work, or Social Care.

During the program, you'll complete the initial, main, and final phases. You'll attend theory and practical classes at school. After the first 20 weeks of school, you'll begin your internship. You'll participate in more and more internships throughout the program.

During your studies, you choose one or more electives to specialize or broaden your training. For example, Community-Oriented Work, People with Mild Intellectual Disabilities and Difficulty Understanding Behavior, People with Acquired Brain Injuries, People with Disordered Behavior, Aging Clients with Intellectual Disabilities, Expressive Talent, Staying Fit, Safe and Healthy Working, and Nursing Practice. For the vocational training (level 3) and middle management training (level 4) you must meet one of the following conditions:

• You have a diploma in pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) with a pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track, a theoretical pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track, or a mixed pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track.
• You have an (older) diploma from lbo, vbo, mavo or mavo-vbo.
• You have a basic vocational training diploma (level 2) or a diploma from another vocational training course (level 3).
• You have proof that you successfully completed the first three years of pre-university or senior general secondary education (havo) or pre-university education (vwo). Or you have another diploma or certificate recognized by the government.

You will be invited for a personal interview or introductory meeting where you will get to know the school and we will see if this course is a good fit for you.

To be eligible for an internship, you need a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG). Almost all training companies require this. We recommend that you ensure you can obtain a VOG before starting your program. This will prevent you from being unable to complete an internship and possibly having to discontinue your program.
