Road transport driver

Freedom, nothing on your mind except the music you love. That's working as a road transport driver. Every day, you're on the road delivering goods within the Netherlands or transporting them abroad.

In this training, you'll learn what it takes. You'll learn how to handle your cargo, navigation systems, and other road users. You'll also learn about your truck's technology and how to keep your records up to date. Accurate waybills let your boss and colleagues back at the office know how long you've been on the road and whether your cargo has arrived safely.

Are you at least 18 years old and in possession of a B driving license and an MBO-2 diploma or a VMBO diploma for intermediate, mixed or theoretical learning path? Then you can apply via the masterclass training  Become a road transport driver in 1 year.

Experienced instructors will teach you everything you need to know to become a professional. This is done through highly practical lessons. For example, you'll learn about different types of cargo (fruit and vegetables, livestock, special transport, frozen goods) and profession-specific English and German to make you understandable as an international driver. You'll also receive standard lessons in Dutch and math.

You'll also choose a number of electives to learn more about topics related to your field. You'll receive more information about the electives available during your program. Each elective concludes with an exam.

With your diploma, you can start working for a moving company, transport company, or wholesaler, for example. After working as a driver for a few years, you can continue your studies to become a road transport planner at the MBO-3 level.
