The metalworking industry is constantly evolving and innovating. A key development is that more and more companies are transitioning to efficient working methods, particularly regarding materials, machinery, and time management.

Efficiently using time, materials, and machinery requires specific knowledge and skills. This practical course will teach you the fundamentals of the craft. It takes place in a small group, so you'll receive plenty of attention from the instructor and have plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

You will learn this

  • Prepare the conventional milling machine for operation, read and set verniers and/or digital position indicators;
  • Based on a working drawing and a work order:
    • Reading and interpreting working drawings;
    • Determine processing sequence and working method;
    • Extract material;
    • Calculate, apply and record machining data;
    • Select cutting, clamping, and measuring tools;
    • Set products to be edited.
  • work according to stated quality requirements;
  • work in accordance with established safety regulations.

Conventional milling course content

  • Recognize and apply clamping methods for milling and workpieces;
  • with face milling cutter, face milling cutter / double-flute and multi-flute / milling recesses and right angles;
  • milling straight continuous slots with double-flute and/or multi-flute cutters;
  • milling slots with a double-flute or multi-flute cutter on one or both sides and on four sides;
  • Milling trapezoid and V-slots.
