ICT system engineer (bol)

Management and development in ICT

Computers, phones, and IoT devices hold no secrets for you. As an ICT system engineer, you ensure that ICT environments are properly installed, configured, and used. This can be within a company, but also online in the cloud, for example.

You'll ensure that malfunctions are resolved by carrying out the repairs yourself or by forwarding them to other specialists. You'll also stay up-to-date on the latest security techniques and, together with your colleagues, help secure the network. Furthermore, you'll automate various processes through programming.

Gain valuable experience

You know everything about an organization's entire IT environment. You make decisions and know how to instruct and motivate your colleagues. You also frequently work with users, so communication and social skills are essential. You'll gain valuable experience by working on and with computers, setting up networks, and answering questions at the Service Desk.

Extensive technical knowledge

Problems are there to be solved, and you ensure that all resources are deployed optimally. You're only satisfied when the department is running as a perfectly configured network. Therefore, you ensure that your technical knowledge and enthusiasm set an example for others.

“Good atmosphere, nice teachers”

At Summa ICT, you have a lot of freedom, but also a lot of responsibility. You can figure out and take on many things yourself. If you need help, there's always a teacher nearby. Our students say: "A good atmosphere and great teachers, but also a serious commitment to becoming good at our profession." Meet them (and ask them yourself) during one of our open days or work experience days.

Mhbo route

Are you sure you want to continue to higher professional education after secondary vocational education (MBO)? Then our MHBO route might be something for you. With the MHBO track, you can obtain both your MBO and HBO diplomas in 6 years. You'll first earn your MBO level 4 diploma in 3 years. Then, you'll move on to HBO, where you can earn a bachelor's degree in ICT in another 3 years. You can also choose to complete the track with an Associate Degree after a total of 4 years.

Switching to bbl

All programs start as full-time vocational (BOL) options. For programs at levels 3 and 4, you can also switch to work-study (BBL). This is possible when you're ready and have found a good training company. You'll work four days a week at your training company and attend Summa ICT one day a week. Together with your study coach, you'll determine what suits you best.
