You will learn this

In the furniture maker/ship interior builder program, you'll learn to create custom-made components based on working drawings. This often involves wood, but you'll also use plastics and hardware. You'll learn how to work with different materials and how to use, set up, and maintain the machines. In addition to vocational training, you'll also take courses in Dutch, math, and citizenship.

The statutory tuition fee for the 2025-2026 school year is €303.

Summa training courses and teaching materials provided by Summa are exempt from VAT. Read more about training costs.

Additional costs

Please note that textbooks will cost €350 per year. You will also need a laptop.

Duration

The program lasts two years. You'll attend school one day a week, on Tuesday afternoons and evenings. You'll have seven hours of classes per week. You'll also need to plan for four hours of home study per week.

What can I become with this education?

With your diploma you can continue your studies at a level 3 course, such as all-round furniture maker/(ship) interior builder.

Preliminary training

You can only take this course if you work for an accredited training company. If your employer isn't accredited, or if you're unsure whether it is, please contact us. We're happy to help.
