You can carry out all carpentry work on location

As a carpenter, you'll work on new construction projects, renovations, and conversions. You'll build roofs, floors, ceilings, stairs, and walls. You'll also make and install doors and windows.

At Summa Bouw, you'll learn how to use tools and machinery. You'll be trained in the best carpentry techniques and get hands-on with laying out and installing things like roofs and window frames. You'll also learn to collaborate, consult, plan, and organize. Delivering good quality is important to you, as is working safely.

You can work at a carpentry company, a construction company, or a contractor. Further education is also possible. You can then follow the level 3 training program. All-round carpenter.

You work 4 days a week at a training company and go to school 1 day a week.

What prior education do you need?

For basic vocational training (level 2) you must meet one of the following conditions:

  • You have a diploma in pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) with a basic vocational track, a pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) with a framework vocational track, a pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) with a theoretical track, or a mixed track.
  • You have an (older) diploma from lbo, vbo, mavo or mavo-vbo.
  • You have an entry-level training or basic vocational training diploma (level 2).
  • You have proof that you have successfully completed the first three years of pre-university or senior general secondary education (havo) or pre-university education (vwo). This proof is recognized by the government.

During a personal interview or introductory meeting, we'll determine if this program is a good fit for you. To participate in this program, you must work at an accredited training company. If you don't work for such a company, we'll help you find a suitable work placement. You'll be responsible for finding one yourself.
