Summa and LiS join forces for more precision craftsmen in Brainport
Summa and LiS join forces for more precision craftsmen in Brainport
October 05, 2026
Summa and the Leiden Instrumentmakers School (LiS) are joining forces to train more precision craftsmen for the high-tech manufacturing industry in Brainport. Starting in September 2027, the Research Instrumentmaker program will begin at Summa. LiS contributes specialized knowledge of precision engineering and research instrument making, while Summa provides the regional connection with students and the business community. The collaboration is part of the national Beethoven Initiative and addresses the growing demand for technical talent in the semiconductor industry.

Summa and the Leiden Instrumentmakers School (LiS) will launch the Research Instrumentmaker program in Eindhoven in September 2027. In doing so, they will train more precision craftsmen for the high-tech and semiconductor industries in Brainport.
