I want to complete the course in two years.

“You can do the program in two or three years; I want to finish it in two. I have the first year behind me now. It is going well. I find the law subjects easy, but Dutch and arithmetic are difficult. It has already been 15 years since I last had arithmetic! Moreover, here at school you get math problems, and those are tricky.”

Manal is gaining practical experience at VluchtelingenWerk Zuid-Nederland . “Right now, I mainly do administrative work there, but after the summer I will also be doing more legal work. I enjoy working there; I have nice colleagues who help me well. The teachers at Summa do that too. They have a lot of experience and teach well. After my studies, I would like to work for a municipality or the Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND), helping new refugees.”
