Working in the microchip industry

Make an impact in the microchip industry

The world runs on smart technology. And the Brainport region is the beating heart of this sector. To grow the microchip industry, we need new talent. In the coming years, even thousands of skilled professionals. To train that talent within Summa, we need you too.

Are you already working in the microchip industry or do you have experience in technology and want to put your knowledge to use? Discover how you can contribute directly to the future as a lecturer, instructor, or dean. Together, we take that first step forward.

Help build the technology of tomorrow

Perhaps you have already heard of 'Project Beethoven' or the 'Talent for Semicon' initiative. A major societal challenge lies ahead for Eindhoven and the surrounding area: many new specialists will be needed in the microchip industry in the coming years. Do you work in the technical business sector and would you like to apply your knowledge and skills in a different way? Then you can play a key role. With a career switch to education, you help students on their way and share your experience with the makers of the future.

What are you going to do?

In our education system, you get direct exposure to daily practice. You connect talents with society and with companies in the region. Whether you are teaching theory, supervising practical lessons in a workshop, or coaching students on their choice of study, you give them confidence in their abilities and talents.

Why the switch is a good choice

We are located at the heart of the Brainport region and, in our role, bring education and business together. Why switch to education for the microchip industry?

  • Security for the future: The microchip industry is growing rapidly. The demand for skilled professionals and teachers remains high.
  • Making an impact: You make a direct contribution to innovations and help students shape their future.
  • Continue developing: Not only do students learn, but you too are given the space to grow in your field and as a professional.

Vacancies

We are looking for professionals who want to pass on their passion for technology to the next generation of engineers and skilled workers. Even if you are not (yet) a teacher, we invite you to apply. Via lateral inflow you can develop into a teacher.

We have several open vacancies, such as  Hybrid technology teacher. As a hybrid teacher, you teach part-time and combine this with your own job in the microchip industry.
