Plenty of activity at Summa Transport & Logistics on the Automotive Campus in Helmond
The Logistics Academy Week is in full swing at Summa Transport & Logistics, at the Automotive Campus in Helmond. Students have been attending classes here since the start of the new academic year. The building offers modern study rooms that meet the needs of students and the demands of the labor market. This has created a challenging, flexible learning environment that perfectly aligns with the increasingly important personal learning pathways.
A look behind the scenes
Mayor Sjoerd Potters of Helmond toured our building today. Students Luuk and Bram talked about their flexible learning environment, after which he was given a tour and officially opened the new facilities. Director Roel Akkerman, along with Annemarie Moons and Jochem Meulesteen from the Executive Board, provided information about our education. In the various rooms and the large practical training hall, the mayor was able to experience how smart mobility and innovation in logistics come to life.
Diverse activities
Students from various secondary schools in East Brabant were introduced to the sector. Together with the Transport & Logistics Sector Institute, they tackled challenges, allowing them to easily discover the versatility of transport and logistics. Outside, visitors got behind the wheel of a bus and a truck: an experience they won't soon forget.
In the afternoon, entrepreneurs and professionals from thirty companies spoke with people considering a move to logistics. Career-switchers are very welcome. The job fair fostered valuable connections between professionals and talent of all ages.
Looking forward
Tomorrow, Logistics Academy Week continues with masterclasses for practical supervisors, among other things. All in all, we'll experience a week in Helmond that showcases what logistics is all about: a sector in flux!
