(Re)registration BIG for nurses

Are you a (foreign) nurse and has your BIG registration expired or do you want to become one? Want to be well-prepared for your exam or assessment for your (re)registration? We offer numerous options to optimally prepare yourself. Create your own learning path and choose the option that suits you.

The BIG re-registration exam consists of 3 parts:

• A theory exam
• A practical exam – a sample of 12 skills
• A final discussion on clinical reasoning

We will work on reserved and risky actions, practice clinical reasoning and refresh your theoretical knowledge.

You can take the BIG re-registration course if:

• Complete training for nurses who obtained their diploma in the Netherlands: in 8 meetings.
• Individual modules for nurses who obtained their diploma in the Netherlands: choose specific program components that meet your needs.

To apply for re-registration with the BIG (Individual Healthcare Professions Act), you must first have your diploma assessed. This can be done through Nuffic or SBB:

The explanation below is about the full 8-day course.

• Attention is paid to theory, nursing calculations, risky and reserved actions and clinical reasoning.
• We start the training with a baseline measurement, so that you know where your focus points lie.
• We only focus on the areas of interest that are covered in the exams.

We expect you to be proactive and study independently. After the course, you'll be ready for the re-registration exams.

You must register separately for the course and exams. You will receive information about this during the introductory meeting.
