Chemical-physical analyst (bol)

As an analyst, you could work in the laboratory of a cosmetics, food, or plastics processing company, for example. You could work in pharmaceuticals, at universities, hospitals, or the Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority. You could also work in veterinary medicine, the metal industry, or a blood bank. If you want to continue your studies, you can transfer to a university of applied sciences (HBO). For example, in Applied Science at Fontys TNW, in the same building as Summa Laboratory, Chemistry or Biology, or Life Science or Food & Pharma.

There's high demand for people in technical healthcare. Therefore, there are plenty of internships and jobs available!

First grade

You'll learn primarily at school. You'll receive theoretical and practical instruction, and you'll practice with real-world situations. You'll also visit several internship companies. At the end of the first year, you'll indicate your desired career path: Chemical Physical Analyst or Biological Medical Analyst.

Second, third and fourth grade

You're ready for your specialization and will prepare for professional practice. In your third and fourth years, you'll complete an internship related to your specialization. There are follow-up days at the school for guidance and additional theory lessons.

Search by your Crebo number (see the box on the right of this page) to view the OER for the current academic year. This will give you a general idea of what's expected of you when you start the program. The OER for the upcoming academic year will be available in July.

The statutory tuition fee for the 2027-2028 academic year is 1.554 euros. Check DUO.nl for possible student finance.

Laptop

For many study programs, students cannot do without a laptop. Check the overview to see if this applies to your program and download the correct specifications.

During your studies, you choose one or more electives to specialize or to broaden your education. Examples include entrepreneurship, leadership, programming, or a language. Throughout your studies, you will receive more information about the electives you can take. You complete each elective with an exam. Read more about electives.

To be admitted to this course you need:

• diploma vmbo framework, mixed or theoretical learning pathway or;
• transfer certificate from year 3 to 4 of pre-university secondary education (havo/vwo);
• diploma All-round Laboratory Technician* or;
• senior general secondary education (havo/vwo) diploma with a Science & Technology or Science & Health profile.*

* With this diploma there is a possibility to start in the second year.
