Electrical installation technician (bbl)

As an electrical installation engineer, you'll work for companies such as electrical installation companies, infrastructure companies, alarm and fire alarm systems companies, IT/network companies, telecom companies, or home automation companies. You can also continue your education with a level 3 vocational education (MBO) program.

You'll attend classes at school one day a week. You'll also work four days a week at a training company, earning a salary.

The Education and Examination Regulations (OER) of a course specify what you will be doing in which period, how much time is spent on this and an overview of the exams that will be taken. Find the OER for your course here.

The statutory tuition fee for the 2026-2027 school year is 314 euros.

Laptop

For many courses, students cannot do without a laptop. See the overview whether this applies to your course and download the correct specifications.

During your studies, you choose one or more electives to specialize or broaden your knowledge. For example, Advanced Technology and Materials Knowledge, Responding to Innovations, or 3D Drawing. For basic vocational training (level 2) you must meet one of the following conditions:

• You have a diploma in pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) with a basic vocational track, a pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) with a framework vocational track, a pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) with a theoretical track, or a mixed track.
• You have an (older) diploma from lbo, vbo, mavo or mavo-vbo.
• You have an entry-level training or basic vocational training diploma (level 2).
• You have proof that you have successfully completed the first three years of pre-university or senior general secondary education (havo) or pre-university education (vwo). This proof is recognized by the government.

It is important that you have had subjects from the Technology sector in your package.

Work

During a personal interview or introductory meeting, we'll determine if this program is a good fit for you. To participate in this program, you must work at an accredited training company. If you don't work for such a company, we'll help you find a suitable work placement. You'll be responsible for finding one yourself.
