Summa is leading the way with teaching materials
I'm a member of Summa's interior design industry committee. We discuss what knowledge and skills students need to be successful in our industry. With increasing automation, should students primarily work with machines, or should they also learn the tricks of the trade? These are interesting discussions.
Both, I think. Especially for us; we make a lot of interiors for yachts . Much of it is handcrafted, because nothing is straight.
Well educated
The teachers are very proactive in considering our needs. This is reflected in the curriculum. In that respect, I think Summa is truly at the forefront. They respond effectively to current developments and adapt their lessons accordingly. We regularly have interns from Summa. Several former students are now working with us. They are well-trained and skilled students. They learn the specialized work from us.
Teachers on internship
The collaboration with Summa is excellent. We learn from each other. Another strength of Summa is that teachers regularly do internships at companies in the region. We've had several of them as well. It takes time to guide them, but we enjoy it. This way, they stay up-to-date on developments and can incorporate them into their lessons.
