As a technical specialist you are the last resort of a car

Student Technical Specialist Vehicles
When Mike Egelie was in elementary school, he already knew he wanted to pursue a technical career in the automotive industry. His initial preference was trucks, but after attending an open house, he opted for passenger cars. "Working on a truck is more cumbersome work. Passenger cars are generally more complex due to the use of electronics and technology. That appealed to me more."
A mechanic is a car's last resort. "When repairing, I follow a schedule to figure out what's wrong. Even though it's often not that simple. That's also why I love this job so much."
Mike is especially looking forward to the "Wheeler Dealer" assignment in his final year. "First-year students buy a used car from school and repair it, at least so it passes its road test. Then we choose one of the repaired cars and take it on a road trip. While touring, we get some crazy assignments, like building the tallest tower possible out of car parts. That's fun, but driving without an exhaust is impossible. Then you have to use your tools to put the car back together."
