Transport & Logistics Collaboration Agreement

summa - cooperation agreement transport & logistics and sector institute

The Transport and Logistics Sector Institute (STL) and Summa signed an agreement this week, combining their expertise and strengths. They have been collaborating for years, but with the new agreement, all contacts are now formalized. The benefits and necessity are high.

Of course, it is a win-win situation:

  • This way, young people are better prepared for a future in the world of transport and logistics during their education.
  • Companies in the sector get employees who better match their needs.

We will find and strengthen each other. We will develop innovative educational concepts, optimize student support, and work together to attract young people to the sector. The latter, the influx of new talent, is crucial. The world is changing, and we must keep pace. We can do this better together than alone. The collaboration means, among other things, that young people will work four days a week at training companies in the Brabant and Zeeland regions through STL, and one day a week at Summa College for their vocational training. The agreement has a three-year term.

Students in the right place

On Wednesday, the signing took place at Summa College on Sterrenlaan. Two parties shared many similarities in terms of knowledge, innovation, ambition, and sustainability. Chris van Bokkum, acting director of STL, said: “Based on the conviction that every talent matters, we will do even more than before to help students find the right program, sector, and profession. Summa College is a leading educational institution in the region for professions in transport and logistics. I am proud that STL will be placing students at accredited training companies in the region. This is a wonderful milestone that provides further continuity to the relationship the organizations have built together.” Renate Reijmers emphasized the importance of the collaboration for the vocational (BOL), vocational (BBL), and vocational (LLO) learning pathways. “At Summa College, we want students to learn the best skills needed in the business world during their studies. I look forward to developing new teaching methods and providing excellent work-study environments. I am convinced that this will improve the quality of education and ensure a better connection with the business community.”
