Ensuring the right flow and always looking for improvement

I work as a supervisor at a transport company. As a supervisor, you're positioned between the warehouse team leader and the company manager. Generally speaking, you're responsible for a department—for example, incoming or outgoing goods. You ensure the entire process maintains the correct flow and are always looking for improvements. The work is primarily done at the computer in the office. I also receive orders from customers here, and you determine how we can accept and process them as efficiently as possible.
At school, you learn all sorts of work-related topics, which ultimately converge into a case study. You submit the assignment for that case study at the end of a period, and you're assessed on it. For example, we've all been assigned a fictitious company and create a departmental plan for it. This is a kind of analysis in which you carefully examine the resources, people, and goods within the company. Then you determine the company's vision and the logistics vision. In the next step, you create an improvement proposal.
