You will learn this

The topics covered are:

  • Introduction to sound, ear and hearing
  • Taking ear impressions (on healthy, adult ears)
  • Screening audiometry
  • Swimming earplugs and hearing protection
  • Hearing loss and its (psychosocial) consequences
  • Hearing aids
  • Basic knowledge of hearing aid technology
  • Laws and regulations
  • Conversation and hospitality

Because hearing care is covered by basic health insurance, the course also covers laws and regulations. Clear and transparent communication with (hearing-impaired) clients is crucial in all aspects, so this is also addressed.

After this course, you'll have knowledge of sound and the human ear and be able to independently perform hearing tests. You'll also learn how to advise clients on hearing protection and hearing aids, and you'll be able to perform minor repairs and maintenance on hearing aids.
