Becoming a qualified orthodontic assistant

Do you want to become an indispensable member of the orthodontic practice? This program will provide you with the knowledge and practical skills to independently guide patients through their treatment process. From recognizing orthodontic abnormalities to fitting treatment appliances and providing clear information: everything is seamlessly integrated into the practice. You'll learn to work with diagnostic data and enhance your communication skills.

Upon completion, you'll have a vocational (MBO) certificate and be a qualified and competent orthodontic assistant. This will give you confidence in your work and add value to any practice.

You will learn this

  • Recognizing orthodontic abnormalities
  • Collection of diagnostic data, such as x-rays and oral photography
  • Guiding and managing the patient's complete treatment process
  • Placing various types of treatment equipment, such as brackets and retainers
  • Providing instruction and information
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy and diagnostics
  • Support in drawing up treatment plans
  • Insight into materials, hygiene protocols and treatment costs
  • Developing communication skills for good information and aftercare

With this knowledge and skills, you can work independently in a professional orthodontic practice. You'll not only support the orthodontist but also ensure patients feel well-cared for and reassured. You'll make all the difference in their treatment experience!

€2.600, including teaching materials and exam fees.

The course consists of 10 sessions and a certification meeting. Expect 2 to 3 hours of self-study per week.

Certificate of Education

At the end of the program, you'll take an exam. If you successfully complete it, you'll receive the nationally recognized vocational (MBO) certificate for orthodontic assistants. This certificate will be registered in the DUO register.
