Your impact as a Strategic Business Partner MarCom As a Strategic Business Partner MarCom, you are the connecting link between marketing & communications and the schools within Summa. You help school management teams make better choices based on data, insights, and market developments.
You have an impact by:
- To provide strategic advice at Management Team and Executive Board level on positioning, inflow, recruitment, and other MarCom issues.
- Translating data and insights into concrete choices, annual plans, and actions for schools and services.
- To further strengthen the Summa brand and help build the next phase of brand development.
- To work together with schools on their positioning and the way in which study programmes and propositions present themselves to their target groups.
- To direct the execution, where you not only advise but also roll up your sleeves and work with colleagues where necessary.
This is what you will do as a Strategic Business Partner MarCom – Expertise Positioning & Brand Management
In this position, you combine two roles: you are a business partner to a number of schools and an expert in positioning and brand management for the entire Summa organization.
As Strategic Business Partner to several Summa schools:
- You are a strategic discussion partner for school management teams and help them make the right choices regarding branding and recruitment for the secondary education target group (youth) and the lifelong learning target group (adults), based on data, insights, and developments.
- You draw up annual marketing communications plans together with the schools, translate strategic objectives into concrete actions, and monitor progress and results.
- You analyze intake, registration, and conversion data, among other things, and use these insights to make targeted adjustments to plans and activities.
- You bring together the right expertise and colleagues, direct the execution, and, where necessary, also contribute to the realization of plans and projects.
As Expertise Positioning & Brand Management for Summa:
- You are the expert and sparring partner regarding positioning for all Summa schools and at the corporate level. You support the other business partners, ask the question behind the question, and determine the right approach and strategy for a positioning project together with them.
- Within the Brand Management expertise, you guide the development and positioning of the Summa brand. You ensure a strong and consistent brand experience and translate the brand strategy into concrete choices in marketing and communication. This comes together in the annual Brand Expertise Plan, which you draft, execute, evaluate, and adjust where necessary.
- You ensure consistency in communications and applications within the organization and monitor the coherence between all brand-related activities.
As a Strategic Business Partner MarCom – Positioning & Brand Management Expertise, you will work within the Advice & Expertise Team (13 colleagues), which, together with the Editorial & Digital Team, is part of the Marketing & Communications department. You will have the opportunity to work partly from home, in consultation.

- A salary in accordance with the MBO collective labour agreement, scale 11, between €4.226 and €6.210 gross per month based on full-time employment.
- A fixed-term contract, with the intention of extension upon satisfactory performance.
- A year-end bonus of 8,33%, 30 vacation days per calendar year based on full-time employment, ABP pension fund, and a laptop and phone on loan.

This is what we expect from you
- You have a strong marketing background and at least 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar strategic role.
- You have experience within a complex organization and with drafting, implementing, and evaluating annual plans and strategies.
- You are analytically strong and have experience with data analysis and analysis tools, such as Power BI, and know how to translate insights into concrete choices and results.
- You recognize whether a positioning question is a marketing or organizational issue and subsequently know how to determine the right route, approach, and stakeholders.
- You have demonstrable experience with brand management and positioning and know how to translate a brand strategy into recognizable and consistent positioning and communication.
- You have an affinity for AI and its application within marketing and communications, and are willing to continuously develop in this area.
- You are a strong discussion partner for the Management Team and the Board of Directors, can think strategically and organization-wide, and know how to connect various interests.
- You are results-oriented, enjoy collaborating, and can switch between strategic advising and practical action. You are soft on relationships and businesslike on content.
